One gets “into Christ” by putting Him on in baptism. And “in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith” (Galatians 3:26). Being children in some families has a good many privileges. So it is in the family of God where the greater blessings are found.
Children of God enjoy the privilege of prayer. Jesus said, “(Y)our Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name’” (Matthew 6:8, 9). Only God’s children can call Him, “Father,” and when they do, He listens. Peter wrote, “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer…” (1 Peter 3:12).
God’s children have protection. “We can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6).
Being the offspring of God, born into His family, we have providence working in our behalf. “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
And God makes provisions for His children. Paul promised, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Again, we notice that those riches are “in Christ Jesus.”
