Andy Kizer is a native of Tennessee where he attended schools in Huntingdon. After high school, he received a degree in Forestry from the University of Tennessee in 1971 and a certificate from Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1979.
He is married to the former Mary Jane Colvett, and they have four sons. Drew preaches for the Ashville Road church of Christ in Leeds, Alabama. Ashley teaches fifth grade at Adamsville (AL) Elementary School. MacKenzie is Product Management Manager for Jack Henry & Associates in Birmingham, Alabama. And Barton is a missionary who serves the Lord in Cusco, Peru. The Kizers have ten grandchildren.
Andy has written articles for brotherhood papers and magazines and many newspaper articles. For fifteen years, he spoke every Monday through Friday on a live, fifteen-minute radio program. He has three books published by Riddle Creek Publishing. He has served the Lord’s church doing local work in Howe, Texas, and Haleyville, Alabama. He has spoken on several brotherhood lectureships and preached in many gospel meetings in Alabama, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. He has taught preachers at Brown Trail School of Preaching in Bedford, Texas, West Coast School of Preaching in Takarodi, Ghana, Preacher Training School in Syktyvkar, Russia, and the Gus Nichols School of Biblical Studies in Jasper, Alabama.
For the last nineteen years, he preached for the Ninth Avenue church of Christ in Haleyville, Alabama. He is now with the Salem church of Christ in Florence, Alabama.
